- PendingT1- Walnut: Permission to carry out a full canopy reduction, reducing the height of the tree by between 2-3m, and the lateral aspects by 1-2m. The tree is getting very large for it's surroundings as well as causing interference with the road, and structure beneath. The Owner wishes to contain the tree to a size appropriate for he garden. T2- Lime: Full canopy reduction by between 50-60%. The tree is incredibly close to the house and blocks a huge amount of light. It has also lost two limbs over the summer months, which have narrowly missed vehicles using the turning space at the end of the road, as well as a high number of pedestrians. This work would allow the tree to be retained at a more appropriate size, and greatly minimising the risk of any further limb failures for an area with such high footfall. T3- Indian Bean Tree: Full canopy reduction by between 2 and 3m. The tree is far too large for it's location, impeeding both the houses and also the pavement. This reduction would allow the the tree to be retained whilst avoiding impact on surrounding structures and footpaths.St Christophers High Street Twyford Hampshire SO21 1NHReceived 13 Oct 2026TreesSDNP/26/03967/TPO2.87 km from centreSouth Downs council

- Pending1no Lime (T10) - To carryout light formative prune to establish and maintain a well-balanced crown structure and natural appearance. Selectively remove poorly positioned, crossing and competing branches together. The dominant central leader and majority of the existing crown will be retained. Pruning cuts will be kept to approx. 25mm or less wherever practicable. Branch length 2.25m, reduce by 0.25m. 1no. Ash (T11) – Prune the mid-canopy branch growth extending over the property boundary back towards boundary fence line. Branch extensions are approx. 1.5m in length, with pruning cuts limited to no greater than 45mm in diameter. 1no. Acacia (T12) – Undertake a targeted tip reduction to first northern lateral, reducing the over-extended northern growth back into proportion with existing crown. Reduce tertiary branch foliage by approx. 0.5m, with pruning cuts limited to approx. 30mm in diameter. 1no. Cherry (T13) – Reduce and reshape canopy, reducing overall height from approx. 9m to 7m, max 2m height reduction. Blend side canopy over extended 4m to 3m, reduction will be blended throughout the crown to retain a natural and balanced ornamental form. - PendingSited to the rear of block 4 (flats 20-23) within the woodland shelter belt. T1 Sycamore It is proposed to undertake a selective crown reduction and lateral branch reduction to the south-western aspect of the Sycamore canopy. The proposed works are required to address branches that have become overextended and are encroaching upon the adjacent building and roof structure. The south-western canopy will be selectively reduced to establish a minimum clearance of approximately 2.5m from the roof structure, whilst retaining sufficient crown volume to maintain the tree?s natural form and amenity value. The upper canopy, which currently extends significantly above the roofline, will be selectively reduced and blended into the surrounding crown to reduce its dominance over the building. The overextended upper growth will be reduced by no less than approximately 1.5m, where necessary, to achieve a balanced and proportionate crown profile. Pruning will be undertaken selectively, with no individual pruning cut exceeding 60mm in diameter. Cuts will be made at suitable pruning points and positioned to minimise the risk of decay and maintain the tree?s structural integrity. The proposed works are intended to provide appropriate clearance from the building whilst retaining the overall character, health, structure and visual amenity of the tree. Works to be carried out in accordance with BS3998(2010), nearest best practice pruning points. The Old Parsonage Care Home Main Road Otterbourne Winchester Hampshire SO21 2EEReceived 27 Sept 2026Trees26/01993/TPO4.22 km from centreWinchester council

- ApprovedT1 - Lime Tree T2 - Copper Beech Reduce the crown of the Lime (T1) by up to 2 metres and the Copper Beech (T2) by up to 1 metre, pruning secondary and tertiary branches only. All works will be undertaken in accordance with good arboricultural practice, retaining the trees natural form and ensuring a balanced crown structure. The proposed works are required as both trees have extended over the adjacent property, resulting in excessive shading of the rear garden. The pruning will help to manage the trees' size and mitigate their impact while preserving their amenity value. The proposed works form part of an ongoing cyclical maintenance programme to ensure the continued health, safety, and appropriate management of the trees.16 Northfields Cottages Northfields Twyford Hampshire SO21 1NZReceived 09 Jul 2026Decided 18 Aug 2026TreesSDNP/26/02732/TPO3.01 km from centreSouth Downs council

- Approved2no. Oak - Reduce the lower crown of the trees overhanging the garden by up to 3m and by between 3-5m where they overhang the neighbouring gardens to abate nuisance. To manage canopy density and restore ecological balance to the domestic amenity space. Selective thinning and minor lateral reduction aim to increase ambient light filtration through the canopy. Will alleviate the heavy shade on the garden, ensuring the survival and growth of surrounding flora while fully maintaining overall structural integrity, health, and prominent public amenity value of the oak trees. 1no. Fir - Reduce all over by no more than 1-2m. Growing in close proximity between two mature oak trees, resulting in canopy crowding and mutual suppression. Developed an over-extended and unbalanced lateral spread, which is impacting the form of the adjacent oaks. Work involves a sympathetic crown lift and lateral reduction to define its form, reduce immediate structural footprint, and prevent it from encroaching further into the canopy of the higher-amenity oak trees. Will restore balance to the group dynamic and ensure the long-term vitality of all three specimens. 1no. Birch - Fell. Initial proposal for a crown reduction is no longer appropriate or viable. Tree has suffered significant structural failure, main apical leader having already snapped off. Is heavily suppressed beneath the dominant canopy of the adjacent mature oak trees, resulting in an excessive structural lean. Felling is requested on safety grounds and to optimize the growing environment for the high-value oak trees. Removing this compromised specimen will alleviate localized competition for root volume, soil nutrients, and moisture, thereby actively supporting the long-term health and vitality of the dominant oaks.51 EAST DRIVE, BISHOPSTOKE, EASTLEIGH, SO50 6FSReceived 25 Jun 2026Decided 27 Aug 2026TreesT/26/1016614.65 km from centreEastleigh council

- Approved1no. Silver Birch (T1) - On the side facing the house and garden a reduction of 2m to remove the branches that touch the roofs. On the side facing the road a reduction of 1.5m in order to clear the street light. 1no. Norwegian Spruce (T2) - Reduction of 1m all round, maintaining the present shape. 1no. Norwegian Spruce (T3) - Reduction of 1.5m on the southern side facing the telegraph pole to disentangle the branches from the phone lines. On the side facing the road a reduction of 1m maintaining the current shape of the tree. The branches of T1 are resting on roof of garage and house, potentially leading to the dislodging of roof tiles and consequent leaks. Branches are fouling the streetlight on Sydney Road and the telephone lines from the telegraph pole adjacent to house. T2 and T3 are fouling the telephone lines from the telegraph pole and the weight of the lower branches is resting on the telephone line to the house. All 3 trees are looking very heavy due to shallowness of their roots. To conduct routine maintenance on the trees within property's curtilage. They have grown very large since last pruned several years ago, do not want them to fall and cause damage or harm through lack of appropriate care.5 SYDNEY ROAD, BISHOPSTOKE, EASTLEIGH, SO50 6DJReceived 21 Jun 2026Decided 02 Aug 2026TreesT/26/1016154.77 km from centreEastleigh council
